Hestia's Community Practices & Values
Beloved Community,
In our 2nd community conversation to Re-Envision Hestia in service of the new paradigm we want to create together, we dove into 2 of the pillars we identified on July 11th — a community where we...
(1) feel safe to fully express our authentic selves, &
(2) have clear roles based on our soul gifts
And so we did a visualization to help us imagine what it would look like to live this way 3 years into the future:
- what environment would support these 2 things?
- what are our soul gifts?
- how can our soul gifts be amplified by this community?
The big take aways we had as a group were... even though this community is *enormously diverse* (not just in terms of race, sexual orientation, gender expression, but also in terms of life experiences, personality, interests, ...and the list goes on and on) -- WHAT UNITES US and lets us feel safe to be our full selves is:
a) Genuine CURIOSITY -- about each other and wanting to SEE people in their WHOLENESS
b) A commitment to our GROWTH & SELF-AWARENESS
c) A deep appreciation for NATURE and her expression of life's elemental flow
d) Embracing our imperfections & VULNERABILITY -- in our messiness, we have permission to be fully human
e) JOY
f) Practicing MIRRORING others' gifts... since it's hard to see them in ourselves.
These are the values and practices we want to honor in service of building the world we long for! Also, what came through was that what unites us is that community members’ soul purposes all relate to being LOVING & NURTURING.
So in service of putting these community values into practice, during our next community conversation on August 8th:
